Please Support my Nephew, Zachary

Hi all,

I often say that we all face our own challenges, whether that’s having cancer, being a caregiver, or in my nephew’s case, living with Type 1 Diabetes.

My nephew Zac is 4 years old, and has lived with Diabetes most of his life. I have been amazed seeing how he has handled what life has thrown at him. He’s so joyful and loves to teach me all about the different sensors he has to wear, pod changes, or the studies he is part of to help other kids.

I’m equally amazed by my brother and sister-in-law who work 24/7 to essentially be his pancreas, and make sure Zac’s levels are where they need to be so he can be a healthy, thriving, exuberant boy.

But I have also seen the toll Diabetes can take on all three of them. The exhaustion my brother and sister-in-law endure, often having to wake up in the middle of the night; the extensive teaching involved with our family or the school Zac is about to go to; Or the times Zac knows something is off when his levels are too high or too low.

This doesn’t need to be the case. While they have faced what life has thrown at them heroically, there are so many innovations on the horizon that will allow Zac to live life to the fullest. But the only way to achieve those solutions is funding.

Next week, Zac will lead my family in the Breakthrough T1D walk in Boston. Last year, our team was in the top 10 and Zac got to be featured on the big screen, making him super excited. We’re neck and neck to get into that top 10 spot, so I ask you as his uncle, to please donate what you can to invest in my nephew’s future. Bring him a smile. Even the smallest amount will make a huge impact.

Thank you,

Jeremy
